    I love the approach also for the same reasons, especially for the younger grades. There is much to be said about having visible or tangible objects to support your teaching of 'thinking skills'.

    I recently came across this book that might interest you if you haven't heard of it already. It's called "How to succeed with Thinking" from Curriculum Corporation. If you or your school hasn't got it yet, it's really worth having on the shelf as a teacher's reference. There are also several others from the same publisher such as "How to succeed with Questioning or "How to... Cooperative Learning", have a browse through the web site if you have a moment :)
